List of Federal Crimes:
Federal Crimes have significantly increased in recent years, and many federal crimes overlap Texas state crimes. As politicians don't want to be seen as week on crime, many national politicians have federalized crimes that didn't use to be federal offenses.
As the number of Federal Laws increase, the laws have decreased how much a defendant needs to know about the crime to have committed it. It's becoming increasingly easy to accidentally commit federal crimes.
It's difficult to put together a comprehensive list of federal crimes as Congress creates many new criminal laws each year. Here's a partial list:
Aircraft and Motor Vehicle Crimes, Animal, Bird, Fish and Plants Crimes, Arson, Assault, Bankruptcy, Biological Weapons, Bribery, Graft, and Conflicts of Interest, Child Support, Chemical Weapons, Civil Disorders, Civil Rights, Claims and Services in Matters Affecting Government, Coins and Currency, Common Carrier Operation Under the Influence, Conspiracy, Contempt, Contracts, Counterfeiting and Forgery, Criminal Street Gangs, Customs, Election and Political Activities, Embezzlement and Theft, Emblems, Insignia, and Names, Escape and Rescue, Espionage and Censorship, Explosives and Other Dangerous Articles, Importation, Manufacture, and Storage of Explosive Materials, Extortion and Threats, Extortionate Credit Transactions, False Personation, Firearms, Forfeiture, Fraud and False Statements, Fugitives From Justice, Gambling, Genocide, Homicide, Kidnapping, Liquor Traffic, Lotteries, Mail Fraud and Other Fraud Offenses, Malicious Mischief, Obscenity, Obstruction of Justice, Peonage, Slavery and Trafficking in Persons, Perjury, Piracy and Privateering, Protection of Trade Secrets, Racketeering, Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO), Riots, Robbery and Burglary, Sabotage, Sexual Abuse, Sex Offender Registry, Domestic Violence and Stalking, Destruction of, or Interference With, Vessels, Stolen Property, Telemarketing Fraud, Terrorism, Torture, Trafficking in Contraband Cigarettes and Smokeless Tobacco, Treason, Sedition and Subversive Activities, Transportation for Illegal Sexual Activity and Related Crimes, War Crimes, Wire and Electronic Communications Interception of Oral Communications, Stored Wire and Electronic Communications And Transactional Record Access, Prohibition on Release and Use of Certain Personal State Motor Vehicle Records, Child Pornography Allegations.
